Are You Ready to Dive INTO THE DEEP?

Exploring the Depths: FIRST® Tech Challenge - INTO THE DEEP

The ocean has always captivated our imagination with its vastness and mysteries. It's a world teeming with life, yet largely unexplored. In the upcoming 2024-2025 FIRST Tech Challenge season, teams will embark on a thrilling underwater adventure with FIRST® DIVE℠ presented by Qualcomm. This season's challenge, INTO THE DEEP℠ presented by RTX, invites students to dive into the depths of the ocean and uncover its secrets through robotics and STEM.

FIRST Dive

The Challenge: INTO THE DEEP is more than just a robotics competition; it's a journey of discovery and innovation. Teams of students aged 12-18 (grades 7-12) will design, build, and program robots to navigate the ocean's depths, completing a series of challenges that simulate real-world scenarios. From exploring coral reefs to navigating underwater caves, each mission will test teams' creativity, problem-solving skills, and technical expertise.

Engineering Innovation and Problem Solving Participants in FIRST Tech Challenge are not just building robots; they are learning to think and problem-solve like engineers. Throughout the season, teams will face complex challenges that require them to design innovative solutions, collaborate with their peers, and think critically under pressure. Whether it's designing a robot that can withstand the pressures of the deep or programming it to navigate autonomously, students will be challenged to push the boundaries of their creativity and ingenuity.

Celebrating Teamwork and Gracious Professionalism® At the heart of FIRST is the ethos of Gracious Professionalism®, which emphasizes respect, cooperation, and teamwork. As teams work together to overcome challenges, they learn valuable lessons in communication, leadership, and collaboration. The spirit of competition is balanced with a spirit of camaraderie, creating an environment where everyone can learn and grow together.

Engaging in Outreach and Community Impact Beyond the robot, FIRST Tech Challenge teams are encouraged to engage with their communities and promote STEM education. Through outreach activities such as workshops, demonstrations, and mentorship programs, teams can inspire the next generation of innovators and make a positive impact in their communities.

Building Confidence and Skills for the Future Participating in FIRST Tech Challenge not only develops students' STEM skills but also builds confidence and prepares them for future success. Whether pursuing a career in STEM or another field, the lessons learned through FIRST – creativity, problem-solving, teamwork – are invaluable and applicable to any path they choose.

Join Us on the Journey The 2024-2025 FIRST Tech Challenge season promises to be an exciting and unforgettable experience for all involved. As teams dive INTO THE DEEP, they will discover the wonders of the ocean, the power of STEM, and the potential within themselves to make a difference in the world. So, come join us on this incredible journey of exploration, innovation, and inspiration. Together, we can build a better future, one robot at a time.
