Introducing IGNITE's PVSA Awards Program

IGNITE Pathways is proud to offer the President's Volunteer Service Award program to recognize and honor volunteers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to serving their community. This prestigious award honors individuals who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service, making a significant impact on their communities and beyond.


What is the PVSA?

The President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) is a national initiative that recognizes United States citizens and lawful permanent residents who have dedicated a significant amount of their time to volunteer service. Established by executive order, this award honors volunteers who are making a difference in their communities through their hard work and dedication.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the PVSA, individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Open to individuals aged five and older.

  • Service Period: Volunteer service must be completed within a 12-month period for annual awards (Bronze, Silver, and Gold) or over a lifetime for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

  • Service Type: Unpaid acts of volunteer service benefiting others.

  • Citizenship: You must be a United States citizen or a lawful permanent resident (green card holder)

Eligible and Ineligible Services

Eligible Services:

  • Unpaid volunteer service benefiting others.

  • National service programs providing stipends (for Lifetime Achievement Award).

Ineligible Services:

  • Donating funds.

  • Political lobbying (non-partisan voter registration is eligible).

  • Religious instruction or conducting worship services.

  • Proselytizing.

  • Court-ordered community service.

  • Volunteer service performed for family members.

Award Levels and Requirements

The PVSA recognizes volunteers at multiple levels based on the number of service hours completed within a 12-month period or over a lifetime:

Kids (5–10 years old)

  • Bronze: 26–49 hours

  • Silver: 50–74 hours

  • Gold: 75+ hours

  • Lifetime Achievement: 4,000+ hours

Teens (11–15 years old)

  • Bronze: 50–74 hours

  • Silver: 75–99 hours

  • Gold: 100+ hours

  • Lifetime Achievement: 4,000+ hours

Young Adults (16–25 years old)

  • Bronze: 100–174 hours

  • Silver: 175–249 hours

  • Gold: 250+ hours

  • Lifetime Achievement: 4,000+ hours

Adults (26+ years old)

  • Bronze: 100–249 hours

  • Silver: 250–499 hours

  • Gold: 500+ hours

  • Lifetime Achievement: 4,000+ hours

Award Packages

The PVSA program offers various award packages to honor recipients:

  • Bronze, Silver, and Gold Packages: Customized certificate, choice of pin, coin, or medallion, and a congratulatory letter from the president.

  • Lifetime Achievement Package: Enlarged, personalized certificate, pin, and a congratulatory letter from the president.
