Web 3.0: The Future to Online Connections

Updated: Apr 18

The future to online connections

web 1.0, web 2.0, and web 3.0

Have you heard of web 3.0, the new thing that will soon take the world by storm? It’s based on complex concepts with blockchain technology. It even has advanced features implemented with A. I. and machine learning. But what’s the difference between web 2.0 and web 3.0?

web 2.0 vs web 3.0

Web 2.0 is our current state of the web, though it won’t always remain as is. Web 2.0 and 3.0 have some major differences. Web 2.0’s primary focus is on community development, while web 3.0’s focus is on empowering individual users. But web 3.0 is even more than that singular goal.

When I first heard of web 3.0, I wondered why it was such a big thing. Was it really that monumental? Well yes, and here’s why. According to Peraltadesign.com, “it’s predicted that by 2025 we will produce and consume 160x more data than we did in 2010!” It plays such a big role in moving us forward in how we store data using edge computing, and if that’s not monumental, I couldn’t imagine what is.

Blockchain has to be one of the biggest and visible features of the new generation. Blockchain technology creates a decentralized database that stores and monitors all transactions, including digital currencies like crypto, and does not use a 3rd party source to transfer the funds. With this ledger based system, it ensures that the transactions are secure, legitimate and trustworthy. Some say in the future Web 3.0 technology will be used pervasively in normal day to day basis e.g., to collect taxes and funds! Could you believe that?

Web 3.0 will be changing our lives, the technology we use, and the way we use it. I heard it has immense potential in how we can write and implement code, for efficient digital solutions to a spectrum of current problems. Though, many people haven’t coded, or even if you have coded, want to know more on the basics, the memes and fun of it, and the smart strategies to code more efficiently? Well my next article covers just that! So follow to stay alert for my next writing, and like this article if you learned something new.
